
Honey Bee Festival – Free Event
The Esplanade in New Norfolk
10am to 2pm Saturday April 6
Come on down to the Esplanade for a family friendly learning day.
Learn about the role of honeybees in the food chain and their relationship with the environment.
There will be a range of activities for children and young people and a variety of
affordable foods and refreshments for families and members of the community. The DVBA will be doing a barbeque with our famous honey/chilli rissoles as well as sausages, vegie burgers and drinks for
all at an affordable cost for families.
There will be an observation hive where people are able to see bees in action and information about
the beekeeping industry including different types of bee hives. There will be honey from the Derwent Valley and surrounding areas for sale as well as stalls with bee related items and more, with information about beekeeping groups and basic beekeeping courses in the Derwent Valley.
