Ladies Day – Introduction to River Kayaking – New Norfolk

Perfect trip for ladies who have never kayaked before and/or are looking for a trip to build kayaking confidence. Our morning kayak trip offers a mix of relaxing gentle flowing river sections and beautiful scenery. Come alone and make new friends or bring your friends along! All kayaking equipment, guide / instructor services, wetsuits if it is a cooler day and morning tea on route. Great for first-time kayakers, fantastic opportunity to learn new skills in a supportive and friendly environment!

PRICE: Special introductory price of $125 pp (plus booking fee) for WILD ISLAND WOMEN.

Meeting time: 10: 00 am – Meet in New Norfolk at Laskey’s Carpark – 11 Pioneer Avenue.

Plenty of free parking.

Our 2.5 hour paddle begins at Plenty and meanders down the River Derwent through the historic town of New Norfolk. You do NOT need to be a confident swimmer or have any previous kayak experience. Just bring your smile and adventurous spirit!

We will stop riverside along the way to enjoy morning tea and finish at the Millbrook Rise Boat Ramp/ or The Esplanade depending on the wind direction. We will paddle following the flow of the river and once we have finished our kayaking everyone will be returned to their vehicles back in New Norfolk.

Inclusions as follows:

• Tuition given to level of tour.

• Courtesy Transport to Launch Site and Return –

• We will be supported by Professional Guidance with Australian Canoeing Qualified Guide and Leader: Fiona Weaver.

• All kayaking Equipment provided including PFDs, Wetsuit for cooler days, Paddling spray jacket. Solo or Tandem sit-on top Hobie Kayaks. Super stable an NO rolling techniques needed to operate.

• Morning tea

Meeting Point – 10 am Laskey’s Car Park, New Norfolk, 11 Pioneer Avenue.

Duration: 10 am to 1. 30 pm (approximately)

What to bring:

• A warm jacket to put underneath a wet weather jacket (We can supply)

• Hat

• Sunglasses

• Shoes that can get wet

• Drink bottle (2L).

• Towel

• Swimmers

• Change of clothes to leave in the bus

Please Note: Maximum of 8 guests. We will provide individual kayaks unless tandem is requested. Guests do not need any kayaking experience just a sense of adventure and a smile! Participants will need to be able to have basic swimming, general mobility and basic fitness. Please contact us below if you have any questions.
